Tate Donovan (Role) : James “Jimmy” Cooper
Tate Donovan is an American movies and television actor and has also served as a director with some projects. His best role was on ‘The OC’ as Jimmy Cooper. Tate Donovan was born in New York in the family of Eileen and J Timothy Donovan. His father was a surgeon and he’s of Irish heritage. Tate has seven siblings and he was the youngest of all. He first attended Dwight Englewood School in Englewood, New Jersey and was later transferred to Public High School in Tenafly New Jersey.
Tate has been acting since his childhood. He enrolled in the University of Southern California. In the fourth season of the very popular series ‘Friends’, Tate portrayed the character of the boyfriend of Rachel Green. He left everyone amazed with his performance as Kevin Donaldson in the 1986 series SpaceCamp. In 1998, Tate was seen on ‘Trinity’ portraying the role of a priest’s son of a large Irish Catholic family. His next appearances were on ‘The Guardian’, ‘Mister Sterling’, ‘Exposed’ etc. On ‘The OC’, he portrayed the character of Jimmy Cooper. In Kenneth Lonergan’s ‘Lobby Hero’, Tate starred on stage along with Glenn Fitzgerald. In 1994, he made an appearance on the revival of ‘Picnic’. In 1999, he was seen appearing opposite actress Dame Judy Dench in ‘Amy’s View’. In the 2001 production of Lobby Hero, Tate played the role of the crooked cop Bill.
Tate Donovan has also released an album titled ‘Wake Amusements’ with an Irish band called ‘The Descendants’. The man also appears on the FX drama ‘Damages’ portraying the role of Tom Shayes, a partner at the firm of Patty Hewes.
Tate has been engaged to Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Anniston. He was also attached to British socialite Plum Sykes (in 2000), actress Whitney Allen (2001), Rebecca Miller, and Lauren Graham of Gilmore Girls. In 2005, Tate married Corinne Kingsbury on a Malibu, California beach. The couple divorced in 2008. The man supported Barack Obama in the 2008 Presidential US Elections.
